Oplan I[G]D Phase 2.5: More Snap-Fit pics and The Paint Process...

-----INCOMING TRANSMISSION----

As of this blog post, the entirety of the MC Hi-Nu Gundoom has been finished, including the new add-ons to its arsenal. However, I'll be putting that on hold as I'm still working on the review and omake time lines for this bad boy (also add the factors of inter-semester anxieties, volunteering for the upcoming Bar Operations, and of course plans for Christmas...

Speaking of review, I'll only be doing the same AFTER I have done the omake for it, unlike the first two series. Anyway, let's move on to the matter at hand...

As you can see on this file photo, the model kit is at its barest, without stickers, decals, or panel lines. I took this pic more than a month now, just the same time as pics at the previous post.

You may have noticed that the white pieces on the side skirts were missing in this photo. Not to worry, just used Bulldog superglue on them after painting the blue part...

Here it is with the Fin Funnel docks and the fuel tanks installed, still in the snap-fit phase of the build. Guess where I ripped off the pose?

Anyway, on to the (spray)painting process...

Since I'm still a n00b as to painting, I figured I start at spray cans first. Which meant acquiring Bosny Acrylic Lacquer cans - one primer, one black, and one Tivoli Blue - as weapons of choice. As of this post, I've already consumed my primer can, will buy another once I start another project.

The colored parts for the fin funnels, mounted on makeshift paint sticks made out of a broom stick and some alligator clips, and primed.

Same parts, minutes after being sprayed on. I was planning on reverse-wasing the paint to further accentuate the surface design, but seeing as they were of the same kind I skipped on the idea, and instead adopted MatX's multi-tone paint trick. Sort of worked...

A few of the parts that were painted Tivoli Blue. Note that some of them were given the two-tone treatment as the fin funnels..

Practically, all light-blue parts were painted, including the center of the v-fin and the chin. Have not yet started panel lining, but it'll get there...

Anyways, here's where I stop for now. Until the next time... ^^
